MAGNESIUM ALLOY RECYCLING

FROM WASTE TO HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCTS

Magnesium alloys play a key role in the automotive and aerospace industries thanks to their lightweight properties, low density and high strength. They are increasingly being recycled to maximize resource utilization and support sustainable production.

Recycling magnesium turnings is a major challenge due to their large surface area and potential impurities. We have addressed this by developing and implementing a safe, reliable process in order to generate a high-quality input material for the iron and steel industry.

This way, we not only create a recycling solution for the producer of the waste, rather we also make a valuable and sustainable contribution to resource efficiency and reducing the Product Carbon Footprint of our reagents for the Desulfurization of Hot Metal and Steel.

In recognition of its outstanding commitment to Environmental Responsibility, the ALMAMET Group was honored with the Award of Excellence in the ‘Environmental Responsibility’ category by the International Magnesium Association (IMA) in 2020.

Recycling Services

In addition to the recycling of Magnesium alloy chips, we offer recycling solutions for other materials. Our service is specialized in the following areas:

Legally compliant collection and processing of chips and other metal waste
Resource-efficient use of various waste types
Consulting across the entire value chain
Customer-oriented logistics

All the necessary machinery and equipment for the chip processing are developed and installed in-house at MSE in Germany, which is certified as a recycling company in accordance with §56 of the Circular Economy Act.

The ALMAMET International Group is continuously expanding its recycling activities with plants in Romania, Türkiye and India.
